On the Wings of a Dream
Size: 72 ¾" x 72 ¾"
Year: 2007

Inspired by Elizabeth Bren’s Zebra Fandango pattern published in Down Under Quilts.

The pieced blocks, a variation of the New York Beauties block, are surrounded by 250 appliquéd leaves. I had decided that I didn’t feel like using the border Elizabeth had, because I didn’t feel like cutting all those rectangles. So … I designed the two-color border, and proceeded to appliqué the leaves.

Materials: commercial cotton fabrics, silk batting, silk thread for quilting.
